Mental Health NASC Services

Need Assessment Services Co-ordination (NASC) agencies work with people to help identify their mental health needs and to outline what support services are available. They allocate District Health Board-funded support services and assist with accessing other supports.

Definition

The NASC definition of an eligible person is:

The client must have a mental health diagnosis and require a key worker to access community supports, however the keyworker is not required for the duration of supports and the client can be referred to primary care and remain eligible. Clients with an alcohol and/or drug addiction diagnosis must have a co-existing mental health diagnosis.
