Younger Peoples NASC Services

Need Assessment Services Co-ordination (NASC) agencies work with younger people to help identify their needs and to outline what disability support services are available. They allocate Ministry of Health-funded support services and assist with accessing other supports.

Definition

The NASC definition of a younger person is:

A person with a disability is someone who has been identified as having a physical, intellectual, or sensory disability (or a combination of these) which is likely to continue for a minimum of six months and result in a reduction of independent function to the extent that ongoing support is required.
