Needs Assessment Services Co-ordination (NASC) agencies work with people to help identify their mental health needs and to outline what support services are available.
Definition
The Ministry of Health definition of an eligible person is:
“The client must have a mental health diagnosis and require a key worker to access community supports; however, the keyworker is not required for the duration of supports and the client can be referred to primary care and remain eligible. Clients with an alcohol and/or drug addiction diagnosis must have a co-existing mental health diagnosis.”
